1. What is your best piece of writing? Why?
I believe my best piece of writing was my "how to be" paper. In that paper, I wrote how to be a politician and I took that idea and ran with it in a satirical tone. The paper ended up being about one full page long, as once I began writing it, it came so easy to me and actually was a ton of fun to write. That paper to me made me think how to make the piece sound so outlandish but still fall within the guidelines. Because I enjoyed writing that piece, I would definitely say that piece was both my best piece and probably one of the more difficult ones.
2. What piece of writing challenged you the most? Why?
I believe that the most challenging piece was the midterm piece, where we had to research on a topic. The problem I had was making sure that I did all the technicalities of writing a research paper correctly. Often I had to double check to see if I had the correct formatting when it came to citing and using a source. The paper was not difficult, but because I am still new when it comes to using documentation like that correctly, it was a little challenging. However, that was one of the only real challenging parts. I would have chosen another paper, but most papers have been easy for me to write. The technicalities really did set this paper apart from the others however.
3. What is your favorite piece of writing? Why?
My favorite paper that I wrote was probably the "classification essay". I really liked that paper because I got to write a paper that I had a good bit of knowledge on, warfare. To me, the subject of fighting and weapons is very interesting, so when I saw the chance to write about it, I was excited. The reason it was my favorite paper is partially because of two things. The first was that the paper was about a subject I know about, which made the whole researching portion extremely easy. The other part was that because I knew so much, it was easy to structure and that made a huge difference in writing the paper.
4. What is it you have learned as a writer throughout our course?
I have learned that writing can still be easy for me. At first, writing was one of the subjects that I was most worried about partially because I was not as good as it as I would have liked. However, the essays I wrote proved me wrong, and I'm so glad that I can write much better. The course I believe has made the difference in my writing, as now I can see how to make my papers better when before I did not have that understanding. The way I have gone with several of my pieces shows how I have really improved compared to when I was in my previous years of high school.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
2. What do I now understand best about this subject? Least Well?
I believe that the idea, or concept rather, that I most understand is how to make papers interesting. It is important to have a catchy and interesting theme in your paper, otherwise people might not read them. That is why I take weird or unique approaches when it comes to picking a topic and how I convey it. Because of this, I feel like my papers are more interesting, and because of that, I feel they are better over all. The part I least understand however, has to be the technical parts of language arts. I believe I have a general understanding of parts of a sentence like direct objects and prepositions, but I feel like fully mastering those is the hardest part. A person can write a good paper but may not know how to fully maximize their usage of these technical parts, and thus have a good paper, but not a great paper. I feel that I need those little parts to make my papers even better.
5. What did you expect to learn? What did you actually learn? More or less, and why? How do you feel now at the end?
I expected to learn how to improve my writing skills and how to make them stand out from others. I learned a lot from this class. I learned how to make papers sound interesting and flow better. I also believe I learned how to enjoy writing sometimes, as I learned through my satirical pieces. I believe the class has enabled me to learn exactly what I had expected and I believe that the class has prepared me for later. I feel like I am a more competent and better writer at the end. I feel ready for what ever essay I have to write, and I hope that I will have a little bit of fun when I am writing them as well.
